Hey you guys! Long time no talk. Ive been in a state of reflection leading up to my 25th birthday and since turning 25. I haven’t sat down to write anything. In between working in a role that demands so much of my time and effort to enjoying life’s unexpected blessings.

Sometimes I choose the enjoy the latter and pull back completely from socials. Then I remind myself why I started blogging, how much one perspective changes with age and I remember to make time for what I love doing outside of my job. This leads me to sharing 25 lessons I’ve learned by the age of 25.

  1. Move at your own speed. Not only will your journey be different from others but your perspective changes as you get older.
  2. Listen to your intuition but don’t regret. Trust your inner voice and act on it but prepare yourself for changes. I left my prior job for another role and although there are challenges in this current position, I don’t regret my decision.
  3. Don’t forget it’s just social media. I get so much done when I reduce my social media use. That statement should speak for itself.
  4. Be good to your body. Your health impacts your daily mood. It’s so important to cut down on things that limit you giving back to your body.
  5. Compromise is good but change for no one. You are who you are because of your character, how you treat and think of others. People who respect that will respect you.
  6. Your perspective changes with age. You become mindful of what others may be going through and you don’t take things personal.
  7. Don’t limit yourself. The more I see people that look like me in places I would like to be, I become inspired.
  8. Change in your everyday routine is good. All change is uncomfortable but may bring about a change in mood for the better.
  9. My parents are my greatest blessings. My siblings too.
  10. Tea is better than coffee. Healthier too.
  11. Plan for the unexpected. Sometimes the greatest things happen unexpectedly.
  12. Be kind. You never know what someone is going through, people typically aren’t the most candid in sharing hard times.
  13. Rejection can open doors to bigger and better things. It also builds character.
  14. Laugh at your self. This may sound silly but once you find joy in laughing at yourself, you have established more happiness in your life.
  15. Evaluate your finances and leverage ways to improve spending habits. As your perspective changes, your needs and wants change too.
  16. Keep in contact with your friends. Check in with your friends. Theirs great satisfaction on both ends.
  17. Don’t take things personal. Everyone has a backstory.
  18. Travel and make memories. Even if it’s local travel.
  19. Have lazy days. With no regret, be lazy and do exactly what you want to do.
  20. Don’t hold grudges. What will you gain?
  21. Practice gratitude on a daily. Life is short.
  22. Love is love. You will understand once you’ve met your person.
  23. It’s okay to have no idea what you’re doing in life but find purpose. Not everyone has it all figured out.
  24. Smile several times a day. Help with your mood.
  25. Don’t brush off your ideas. Act on them.

Thanks for stopping by.
