Do you feel like you are always ON? Are you inclined to always show up as your full self? There is a misconception in showing up as your full self constantly, simply because some days you will fall short. It’s so important to restore the energy you share with people and make yourself a priority.

This week I struggled a little bit with showing up as my full self because of competing priorities and wanting to allocate time, energy, and resources towards those priorities. At times you will fail to meet expectations of yourself but in the end, the person standing is you. This leads me to 4 ways to give back to yourself.

1. Take Your PTO

This week I debated taking time off but decided last-minute notice was not timely so instead, I intentionally blocked off a day next week to take off and do absolutely nothing. Depending on your personality, you may recharge differently. For me, doing absolutely nothing or using my time to do whatever I want is rewarding.

2. Indulge In Tangible Things

There’s that saying “work hard play hard”. Reward yourself with that pair of heels you’ve been wanting, those 3 items you have waiting in the cart, and the latest resource to help better your craft. I find value in working for what you want so in return you can reward yourself!

3. Mind Your Health and Well Being

What you give is what you will receive. You want to give yourself a good life and memorable experiences, that all starts with your health. Be good to your body and cater to its health needs. No one is perfect, I am super inconsistent with working out but mindfulness trumps disregard.

4. Say NO

At times your energy will be overly consumed simply because you struggle to decline social events, work engagements, and more. You will be surprised how much power you get back when you take control and say no.
